We should have our tax settings supporting that happening.
The government's budget isn't going to do much for that, but certainly getting slammed by rate rises will potentially do that.
And, again, it depends on your perspective.
If you've got 200 homes, you're like, oh, no, I'm not happy now.
But if you don't have one, you're like, yes, please, can I have a house that I can afford?
Yes.
It's really, it's deeply, deeply troubling.
Yeah, it's putting us on a path to a deeply unequal society.
And like, look at the US.
Do we really want to end up like that, where inequality is rife, where social services are virtually nil, and where people are really like at each other's throats?
Like, that's a scary path.
We as a wealthy nation should be nowhere near that.
We should be looking after everyone in this country.
We've got the wealth to do it.
We shouldn't be looking after people that don't need the help, those big corporations that are fleecing everyone, those billionaires who are laughing all the way to the bank.
We actually need to raise revenue from those kind of cohorts to help everyone.
It's not rocket science.
I really worry I really I mean I will resist that with every fiber of my being as well most normal humans nobody wants to be like that like we should be proud of the health systems that we have but unfortunately we still have a two-tier health system you know if you're rich enough and you can afford private health insurance then you get this fast lane we shouldn't have that we should have really well-funded public services that everyone can access no matter where they live and
And no matter how much money they've got in their bank account or their credit card limit, like we could have that.
But at the moment, we've got a government that is so desperately close to big business and to the super wealthy.
