It was simple enough for the first two or three weeks in training.
But you're right.
I say the week up to the All-Ireland, Wexford was crazy.
It was absolutely mayhem.
To recover from everywhere.
I couldn't believe the weekends in the build-up to it.
The pubs had...
you know, discos or whatever it was on.
It wasn't a celebration.
It was, you know, it was like a... Hype.
Hype.
It was amazing.
I just couldn't believe it.
Naturally, it wouldn't be out in a pub, but I used to go to the Hurley Mall.
You know, if we weren't training, I'd go down to the Hurley Mall down in Kilmacree and I'd just do a bit of hurling for an hour or two just to get my head around, you know.
Every game before I played, I'd go down there for an hour or two just to get my head right the night before going through...
the player that you want to mark whether it's DJ Carey or John Troy or whoever you're marking you know you're going through these things in your head and you're just trying to get that out of your system you know the negative stuff that might be lying in there you have to get rid of that and fill it with positivity and that all as I said that comes down from the sports psychologist and Liam Griffin himself to try and get rid of that and put all positives in and take away the negatives so you're more confident going into the game and
You know, people often say, how do you hurl with a smile on your face?
I used to always just smile.
