It looked a lot to me like the players were told at halftime to, OK, try to slow the tempo down a bit.

We're going to try to keep the ball a little.

And that they are not very good at.

And the games didn't fully get away from them, but the second halves were not as convincing at all.

And you see oftentimes like some slightly weird decisions being made on the ball.

I think they seem to be a lot more comfortable when they're going full pelt.

They don't seem super comfortable when they're defending out of possession, and they don't seem super good at taking down the tempo in possession.

And is that a big problem against Australia and Paraguay?

Maybe no, but against stronger opponents, it could be.

I don't think you can do full press, here we go, every game for the rest of this tournament, because I think you're going to run out of juice.

The caveat would be that the games kind of fell into a pattern that really suited them, and they lost a little bit of control in the second half in both games in a way I didn't love.
