Now, it told investors that it's expanding its lithium mine in Western Australia, which it has a

50% stake in through its joint venture with SQM, which is a mining giant in Chile.

Now, the expansion is expected to double the mine's production by 2030, which could see US farmers benefit from the expected long-term demand for lithium.

But look, it does come with a price tag of up to US$500 million.

So its share price did initially lift on the news this morning, but they are under pressure now to

in afternoon trade given the big investment and also with lithium prices dropping back recently.

So West Pharma shares are down by around 2% in afternoon trade.

So let's look ahead from here because tonight it does look like the US market might open up largely unchanged, pointing down just very slightly.

But it does look like a bit of a bigger drop for the Nasdaq, which is pointing down by 0.6%.

But I think what happens there

you know, we're all going to be watching out for those big earnings tonight, Tesla and Alphabet.

Keep in mind that is after the US market shuts.

So we'll be watching at these share prices in after hours trade, but we could potentially get an indication for how these stocks perform during the session as well, even before the results come out.

And we'll also get more quarterly updates from our mining and energy giants, including Santos, Sandfire Resources and Karoon Energy tomorrow.

And we also have Macquarie Group hosting its annual general meeting.

So a very busy 24 hours ahead.
