I suppose the book is kind of about our

modern obsession with identity and sort of trying to find your individual identity within various collectives.

And so it kind of I look at it through the lens of my own sort of experience because it's not I don't think it's charitable.

I don't think it's kind to sort of deconstruct anyone else's identity.

I've no right to do that.

So I

I chose to do it with my own, you know, like the extent to which where you come from dictates who you are, the community you grow up in, the culture that kind of gets knitted into your sense of what's right and what's true and what's good.

And I guess I wrote the book because I feel as though we've sort of entered this period in which description has replaced meaning.

You know, when we want to tell someone who we are or express ourselves, we just sort of spew out a list of words that categorize us in specific ways.

And we just presume that if we aggregate these, then that's who or what I am.

And so I suppose as a sort of as a philosopher, I love this idea that who or whatever it is that we are is emergent from all of those things and other things that we can't understand or even see a lot of the time.

And that there's something kind of metaphysically miraculous about all of us that's deep and way beyond description, you know, way beyond something you can put in your email bio.
