We have another lawsuit that's been years in the making that involves 20 markets around the country.
And really, you just think about it as this lawsuit that we just got a verdict on on steroids.
If the damages in this were $1.8 billion, which could be trebled to $5 billion, that lawsuit is several times larger.
We're talking about damages in potentially the $40 billion range, according to some estimates.
You know, you just imagine that whatever this lawsuit is doing in terms of shaking up the industry, that will do it many times over.
And then what we've basically seen since then is a copycat national lawsuit all across the country, which, again, could be even bigger in scale if that ends up going forward.
The real kind of key takeaway is that when you get a verdict of this size, a $1.8 billion number, plaintiff's attorneys sit up and take notice.
And, you know, as one analyst said to me, it's really just at this point a race to the courthouse.
Economists expected a slight drop as of about a week ago.
But if you had asked me a few weeks ago, I was really sure we were going to have a third good month in a row.
It just seemed like things were finally turning around.
Job growth has been good.
Wages have been good.
Rates have now been low for – have been dropping for really most of the past year.
And there was just sort of a sense of optimism, a sense of hope that this market that had been slow for a year was about to turn around.
And so it was a little disappointing that that did not turn out to be the case.
Yeah, it was a great time to be a buyer.
I kept writing it.
Apparently, nobody listened to me.
