The Democrats, I think, have a problem where everything has to be message tested.
Everything from a simple tweet to a TikTok video, someone on their staff has to sit there, help them write it, help them practice it.
Nothing feels authentic.
Nothing feels real.
And in today's communication era, you can't not feel like an authentic person online if you're trying to get a message, especially a political message out.
So they're in a big bind right now where they are trying.
They're trying to be more present on social media.
They're trying to go on different kinds of podcasts.
They're trying to go to places like your show on the Bulwark, all these different kinds of outlets that more and more people are turning to to get their news from.
But it's just they just haven't figured it out yet.
And more times than not, the attempts they do make to try and reach people just comes across as super cringy.
It doesn't work.
It backfires.
I'm sure everyone watching saw some of the TikToks that Democrats did last week around the State of the Union address that just got completely torn apart because it just felt a little silly.
I mean, maybe that speaks to someone, but it doesn't speak to me.
They're trying, right?
