My cousins who've been through so much, my family, my community, all of us, you know, like people who would come to pay respects for Dan, who had also lost children and friends and family members to suicide, his friendship group.
I remember one of his friends had come in.
We just, you know, the way the houses go, like people just gathering.
And they were like, I'm sorry.
And I was like, I'm so sorry.
You have to lose another friend.
Do you know?
And the suicide rates are higher in disadvantaged areas.
So it's not like we never knew what it was.
We knew that it was final.
We knew, you know, all the terrible parts in between.
The fact that we've not done it because it's grief ever complete, but that we've made it, that my mom made it, you know, that was all I wanted at that time.
That's actually so good.
And I thought about that when I was coming up here.
