Yes, yes, of course.

In my previous career... I did ask permission in advance.

In my previous career, I was a performance artist and a live artist and I worked with a multitude of personae.

I was very much inspired by...

Lynn Hirschman Leeson, who made this piece, you probably know it, called Roberta Brightmore, where she became Roberta Brightmore in San Francisco.

She gave herself a wig and new clothes, rented an apartment.

Can't imagine when you could afford to rent two apartments.

Crazy.

In San Francisco.

And she went to Weight Watchers and therapy as Roberta Brightmore and made a whole body of work about Roberta Brightmore and then handed it off to somebody else to become Roberta Brightmore.

So I was very influenced by her and Sophie Carle's kind of Venetian suite where she followed people around and took pictures in hotel rooms.

And I devised a series of personae, some of whom were more successful than others.

One of them was Alexander Geist, who was a kind of a disco crooner.

And I thought it was hilarious.

But to a lot of people...

They took it seriously, and that was a very strange space to be in.

A couple of really sharp audience members found it entertaining in the way I had intended.

I remember, I think, Uzin Gloop came to see a performance, and I was like in a hot pink Versace suit, grinding on a microphone pole.

And she said, you've got such a nerve, dude.

That was hilarious.
