I don't know if I agree with you guys.
Like, I I get what you're saying that he could have said this is Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, whatever, but that's really kind of arrogant on a part.
Like, I always kind of bristle at certain directors' choices to put their names above their films.
Like, we know it's your film.
You directed it.
And so I don't know if that is really needed because
Because there have been many films about many books, and it's kind of understood that when you make a film that is based on a book is gonna be the story that you want to take or whatever you found interesting in it.
And very rarely does it really hold close to the text.
And sometimes when that happens, it is decent, as has happened before, but oftentimes it's kind of
of terrible because there's a difference between a book and a movie.
And there are certain kind of choices that you have to make when you're making a movie to make it cinematic and also to make it adhere to the thing that you want to tell.
So
I don't know.
I I hear what you're saying, and maybe you're right, but also it should be understood by anyone who's an intellectually engaged film goer that the movie that you're gonna get is Martin Scorsese's whatever or to Steven Spielberg's whatever, not necessarily Odysseus, well uh Homer's The Odyssey.
I don't I just I don't know if that's needed.
of although we don't want to say the Guillermo del Toro is lower tier or anything like that.
But yes, I think you're right.
