No, I think it's very important, and it's the source of the modern account of legitimation, which is, you know, the political authority gets its legitimacy for rights,
from a particular connection to individual agency and to individual freedom.
And so it's a move away in modern political thought.
It's a move away from the divine right of kings, for example.
So this idea that rulers rule because they rule in the name of God and we can ask no further questions about that, to an idea that they rule because they respect certain claims of the individuals.
Yeah, they have a freedom of contract, freedom of expression.
Exactly, they are subjected to their authority because this authority gives them certain rights in exchange for certain liberties.
