It was already this kind of internationally situated cross-cultural discourse that produced the Kyoto school from this deep and rich intellectual heritage, you know, stretching sort of from early Buddhist thought in India through China into Japan and these.

did what m maybe you're not supposed to do academically, which is became so broad that I was no longer specialized.

And so in that sense though, I think I began to think through

Exactly how cross-cultural dialogue is constructed and maybe began to embrace that it should be a little messy.

Um, and and hard to classify, uh, because that's often how it unfolds anyway.

So I think that was how I came into the more the broader world philosophical discourse.

Um maybe I'll speak for a moment just to the hс the historical part there.

You know, and I think in many ways too, what you a a lot of people in comparative philosophy, at least in the past ten to fifteen years, have also begun to feel that that's sort of a convenient term.

It's the term that is stuck.

And there's a lot of people trying to uh change the way that particular methodological

practices presented.

So part of what we do, I hope, is to provide a venue uh for a lot of people who
