There's this great another great book called Socrates Tenured, right?
Which talks about the history of the formation of of our contemporary understanding of the discipline.
Like what does it mean to say philosophy is a discipline?
And so that that that heritage there, um, as soon as you start questioning what philosophy is in this kind of critical historical way, and maybe with an eye to colonial history, you start to you start to need to learn about the construction of all the other disciplines that exist in academia today that contribute to this this landscape or these sort of
inequities um are still being enacted.

Um I'll I'll add that I think part of the relational aspect there is that we do try to remain critically aware of the way
Our word choices are relationally situated, right?
So so I don't think we conceived of ourselves as telling readers how the world works or you know this sort of particular paradigm has been the right one all along, and now we're informing you of that.
But aware of the fact that when we make these word choices about how to name traditions, you know, how to say world philosophies instead of maybe cross-cultural philosophy, something like that.
How the traditions themselves referring to themselves.
Um for example I use the word ruism in my written work instead of Confucianism for a a lot of reasons that might be too complicated to get into here but
