Nobody's saying to parents right now, you're the one who can make this enormous difference, right?
When I was diagnosed, my parents had been told they needed to have me evaluated, right?
Worst thing any parent can hear.
So they take me to one of those medical testing buildings, linoleum floors, stale coffee, uncomfortable furniture,
And a woman comes back and says, you know, Lucky's got big problems.
Lucky was my childhood nickname.
Number one big problem was behavioral.
If somebody looked at me the way I didn't like, I'd turn around and slug them.
So no kind of play dates or birthday parties or anything like that.
Big sensory issues.
If I had something on my ankles or a jacket on I didn't like.
I would totally melt down.
And then lastly, big learning disabilities.
A 20 point spread between the two halves of your IQ test is a learning disability.
I had a 70 point spread.
And this was the issues I had.
The woman said, it's very difficult to understand what's going on inside his head.
My wife would tell you that's still true.
