And I know a lot of people have a question like, OK, iceberg lettuce.
Well, what about other stuff?
Is other stuff OK to eat?
And so that sample was turned out to be a false positive, they told Taylor Farms.
And I believe that Taylor Farms was misleading in the statement that they put out saying FDA apologized.
And I think it led a lot of people to believe that somehow FDA was walking back the link to Taylor Farms.
It has not.
It goes into so many things.
But also, because lettuce has a very short shelf life, many of the products maybe that were contaminated, maybe they're no longer on the shelves.
So it's really hard to find something that's contaminated and say, aha, here's the thing.
And until they close the investigation, which is not anywhere closed yet, I think people need to remember that it's probably not just iceberg lettuce.
It's probably not just Taco Bell.
We just don't know what else might be contaminated.
And it's also possible because it's so tricky to figure out that they may never figure it out.

This disease tends to spike in the summertime because that's when we eat a lot more fresh produce.
Basil, lettuce, fruits, cilantro, those are some of the food items that have been linked to previous outbreaks of this particular parasite.
And that makes it very hard for people who are investigating this outbreak to pinpoint what it is that caused it, because they have to interview people and ask them, not only what do you remember eating yesterday or two days ago, but what did you eat two weeks ago?
The CDC is trying to figure out where people are getting sick, what has made them sick, piecing together all of those details, seeing if there's any commonalities, and they're working with state health departments and the FDA.
The FDA is in charge of traceback investigations.
