It was mixed.
I was born in a city called Hartford, Connecticut.
This is in the United States.
Two very responsible and loving parents.
I'll at least start with that.
a sister who was seven years older than me, when I say that I start with that, that they're responsible, loving and caring parents, there was always violence as well.
The humor, the laughter, the parties where they were both competing with each other, it looked like a tennis game.
My mother would tell a joke and then my father would tell a joke and everybody's just going like a... So that was a very pleasant part.
But the other part of the violence where...
I was severely beaten.
They call it punishment.
I call finishing your business being a punching bag.
But as I got older, my father got over that.
My mother also could get violent when she wanted her way.
I don't know if you know there's a wire to the vacuum cleaner, and she would get that.
And she said, are you going to do what I say?
It would be whipping.
My father would be punching.
Again, it wasn't something that was like my father came home drunk or something.
