When I first started Gestalt, I used to say, okay, so let's do this experiment.
Let's do that experiment.
I was just running away from the intimacy by just sitting there and saying nothing.
Because if nothing's happening, they're paying for nothing, which is not true.
They're paying you to accept them when they can't talk.
So listening to me is on many levels.
It's listening to the emotion.
It's listening to the body language.
It's listening to everything behind what a person is saying.
I thank God that I have gotten to this place in my life where I can listen deeply to other people and allow them that space.
I'm thinking about being with my wife and my children and my grandchildren and some very good friends that there is nothing really to laugh at,
But we laugh.
It's something in the air, in the joy, in the allowing each other and listening to each other.
And each one is, you know, no matter what they're doing, they're all happy.
together and just their being in that space makes me laugh from the heart.
Now, there are some comics that I watch that I enjoy very much.
Some of them are really excellent, very skilled.
And the one that was my mentor
when I was 11 years old, and this is when television just came out in black and white and there was no video, it was all done live, was a gentleman by the name of Sid Caesar.
And he was my, I mean, 11 years old, I'm sitting there listening to him and what he does and how he pantomimes.
