Leo Soto

Leo Soto fled Venezuela with his family when he was just 10 years old, escaping what he calls a brutal socialist regime.

He says his Venezuelan family had hoped previous administrations would step in, but saw only statements and sanctions.

Now, as an American citizen, he says the liberal rhetoric doesn't represent how its community feels.

And Leo says and recognizes his family back in Venezuela are scared and uncertain about their future, but this is the closest they have ever been to the possibility of freedom.
