Sh there's many, many, many statistics that suggest that
Upwards of seventy five percent of of kids are really really interested in in changing their bodies to fit into the un really unrealistic appearance ideals.
And that, you know, within that percentage it varies um tremendously around the lengths that one child might go.
But even as young as four, you know, kids are starting to make these kind of black and white determinations about what's um valuable in terms of a size and shape of bodies.

Yes, we're so excited to be here talking with you today.
Yeah, I'm Leslie Block and I too am a psychotherapist with a practice in Brooklyn Heights in Brooklyn.
Um and I spend a lot of my time working with individuals, um, kids, adolescents, families, and adults who are
challenge with their relationship with food in their body and different levels of severity.
And I am also a mother of two living in Manhattan, um, two girls.
And Zoe and I met in graduate school.
We both really were interested in specializing in eating disorders, and we
spent a lot of time consulting, doing peer supervision with each other as we built our private practices.
Um, we pretty much built them at the same time.
We sat for our licensing exam both
very, very pregnant, um, mine with my second, hers with her first.
And so we kind of launched our private practices, launched our parenting journey all at the same time.
And I think when we both kind of came up from air from that, if there's ever that moment, there seemed to be a little bit of space for both of us to think about, I guess, our next baby.
