I know Liverpool aren't going to be partaking in the traditional Christmas fixture list with their being in Qatar at the moment, but...

I've got an example here of teams that can spark into life over the Christmas period.

If you look at Burnley last season, I'm going to paint the relegation picture here, but they had 12 points after 17 games and everyone was writing Sean Dyche's team off at that point.

And I remember that they registered back-to-back victories over, I think it was West Ham and Huddersfield over the Christmas period.

And that's just seemed to spark their season into life.

And they ended the season finishing a comfortable 15th.

So...

Norwich and especially Watford can take a huge amount of encouragement from the way that Burnley approached the Christmas period last year and I do think that a couple of wins because the games come so quick at you can really change your season and put you on the front foot.

I'm going to say a lazy appointment from Everton.

I think they could have really done with taking their time with this big decision and getting a manager in who's got experience of building teams that are struggling down the bottom ends of the table and Ancelotti hasn't got that experience.

I'm surprised they haven't appointed Duncan Ferguson until the end of the season.

I think that was the sensible option just with the way he'd got the fans back on side and there seemed to be a good positive energy around

Everton at the moment during his tenure there.

And I think they've gone with the Hollywood option when they probably should have gone with the sensible option.

Yeah, I think it's important in terms of getting the message across to Ancelotti about what the club means to everyone on the blue side of Merseyside.

But I think Ferguson has shown in the past two, three weeks that he is capable of being a manager in his own right.
