When I arrived in France, I think that for weeks and weeks and weeks, I had all my meals alone.
No one ever asked me even for a coffee.
Or sometimes I would go for a coffee and I remember it was the winter and it was dark and I was very cold.
That was the first big real winter in my life.
And I would have coffee with a Parisian girl.

And I have to go back to my little room and eat something very bad that I bought at the supermarket because I was incapable of cooking at that time.
So, yeah, I think that was something that really shocked me when I arrived in France.
I mean, for me, it was a revolution because as I was telling you before about my mother telling me that knowledge was a weapon for women, that's exactly what Simone de Beauvoir proved in her book, In the Second Sex.
She read everything.
She read history.
She read biology.
She read philosophy, trying to find in all those fields the reason why we accepted for
so many, many centuries that women were weaker than men and that we were unequal.
