I started an apprenticeship as an auto electrician, and we come from the working class.

My mom and dad, they're hard workers, and I thank them for the work ethic I've got.

But when I told dad that I was leaving my apprenticeship to chase boxing, man, yeah, I copped a little bit of a hard night.

Yeah.

Exactly right.

He said, you're dreaming.

Yeah.

I just believed that it was going to happen.

This is what I want to do so much.

And then my old girl, she was support.

She said, go for it.

Go, give it a crack.

And a lot of people said, where's your plan B?

And in my head, young and just stupid, I guess at the time, there was no plan B because I'm already thinking about if it don't work.

I've got this one plan and I've got to make this thing work.

So...

Yeah, I moved up there and that was unreal.

I was working at the Good Guys doing washing machines and stuff out the back there.

I wasn't smart enough to work on the floors out the back.

And I'm delivering washing machines with Bam Bam and, yeah, that was it.
