Um and again now to lose, I think Hal so close to the start of the season must be really frustrating because you've then started preseason and changed things and that gets quite difficult. matched

Um they've lost key players from kind of the the core part of the team, I think, in in the central area. matched

Um the good thing for them, I think, is most of their defence is still there and they've got kind of matched

Of a rock that they can build on and from that the Chow Botman partnership, I think, is generally quite good. matched

It was kind of a one of the green shoots and not a very good season last season. matched

I think if they can build on that, they've got good fullbacks in Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, providing they can keep them both fit. matched

So there's pieces there to build from. matched

I appreciate that is only one part of the team. matched

But people might remember that kind of a few years ago when Hal first came in, they were a really good defensive team. matched

They never really got back to that, which was a bit cute. matched

Serious, um, but they only conceded 33 goals in 2022, 23. matched

Now, can they do that again? matched

I don't know, but I think that's something they should probably aspire towards. matched

And actually I think this might be a benefit of Salah leaving was that last season kind of slot trying to instill some kind of pressing football, they were just really, really struggling because Salah wasn't going to offer much defensively. matched

He'd often kind of cheat without the ball that he wouldn't do a huge amount of pressing. matched
