But it's very difficult if you have this relationship that has been the center of your, that is your entire universe.

How do you then say you can't be so high on my list anymore without that causing almost irreparable damage or

this breakdown of trust.

So I do think that it would be very difficult to manage that kind of thing.

And as I said, they're quite codependent and it's kind of us against the world.

And I think the moment where they realize it's not us against the world, it's kind of like, well, what's the point of us then if we're not going to battle?

Yeah.

So I was awarded a mentorship, a copyright agency mentorship with the Australian Society of Authors.

And I was mentored by Lee Kaufman, which was just invaluable.

Lovesick would not be where it is today without that mentorship opportunity.

Like the emotional depth that Lee was able to get me to see, to bring to the manuscript was just, it would not be where it is today without that.

But I did get to the point after that where I sort of thought, you know, I've been working on this for a really long time and I am starting to get to the point where I'd love to put my energy into something new.

And I had to kind of decide what,

Do I want to keep going with this?

Like I had been shortlisted for another mentorship for it.

And I just sort of thought, I feel like I'm so close.

I just had this feeling of just being really, really close, but also a lot of doubt and kind of wondering if I could really do it, if this was the book to do it.

And also I'm trying to have a wedding and save money.

And I think it's so hard to write a book and also live your day life, your day job and all that sort of thing.

So I thought I'd been shortlisted in the Glendower Award at the Queensland Literary Awards before.
