I think coming from like a technical writing standpoint or viewpoint, it's almost like you kind of have to know, we don't have to know, but if you can say, oh yeah, Gabby's listening to like an old Bring Me The Horizon album, it just shows how well that you know that character, which just leads into so many other, it's how you develop dialogue and their opinion on something.
Like it just is a really great way to sort of understand your character completely.

say what specific book she's reading or like, because that's just another way that you know your character.
How much of you do you think is in Gabby?
Gabby has this, she wants to be, she wants to come across as can't be her, doesn't care about people's opinions.
And I think that was definitely me when I was in my like earlier twenties.

I do think you have to be, as a writer, you have to, if you want to write in a certain way, you do have to read that genre.
If you want your prose to be poetic, I think you have to engage a lot in poetry.
Like I did read, was reading a lot of poetry when I was writing Lovesick.
