I mean, literature is kind of their love language.
And so, you know, and that's kind of the point.
The point really isn't, you know, having read the things.
It's that they've found each other and that they have this language to speak to each other with that they don't have in the rest of their world.
Yeah, I feel like when I was writing this, both before I got the idea because of these two big losses that I had in 2019 of old friends, you know, old, old boyfriends, actually old big loves both died of cancer a month apart in separate cities.
And I think I was holding a lot of that, but it takes me a while to process.
And part of my process is to write about it.
And those hospital scenes are definitely the kind of first images of the book that I saw.
And then as I was writing it, my mother-in-law died in a very similar way, you know.
And so I felt like it was just kind of all around me and, you know, needing to be written about.
And there's
I mean, there's just there's so much that happens in a hospital over these days, you know, all the relationships, you know, that are swirling around and the the.
The medical staff and the interactions and the incredible humor and what I was really struck by, which I tried to show in the book, was the cell phones.
I mean, I just I hadn't expected cell phones to be at a deathbed.
But they are so much a part of it now.
And that was oddly something I felt like I needed to describe.
You know, it was almost like I needed to report back to everybody else.
