was an interesting candidate that the Steelers, I believe, had a video interview with, correct?
Right.
Now, he told people yesterday upon meeting reporters in Miami, basically said six teams wanted a second interview with him and said, you know, if you've done your reading pretty much, you'll know who they are.
Sounds like one of them was the Steelers.
I know Alex Cazor from Steelers Depot, whose stuff I like very much.
That was his choice.
He has one of the deepest and most varied backgrounds of any of these people.
And I think Miami did it right here.
They went out and got their GM, John Eric Sullivan from the Packers, gave him free reign to hire.
And he brought in a guy he's very familiar with.
He's a football guy as a GM too, Sullivan is.
And he brought in his guy, Halfley, who they worked together in Green Bay.
It seems like a very impressive tandem, and I'm wondering if the Steelers may live to regret that they didn't move faster on Halfley, who, like everybody else, seems to have rejected the Browns.
I also like having a football guy as the GM.
That's maybe just me, but I do like having the football guy as a GM.
Like Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons?
Incredible.
Things that stood out about Halfley were the way some of his former players talked about him too.
Richard Sherman saying his preparation is some of the best I've seen.
I've had some great defensive back coaches.
