You know, ESPN, give them credit.
They always were ahead of the game with certain technical innovations, even though our sports and our anchors weren't so thrilled with many of those innovations because we felt that at first it took away from what we were doing, our writing.
You know, people were always shocked in the early days when I would tell them we'd write our own stuff.
Everyone was convinced we had writers, but that helped bring out our personality.
Another great thing that helped

make this a sports center, right?
To have our personalities come out and have athletes come in and donate their compensation to charity.
And they all wanted to do it.
And we felt like we were movie stars on these 10-hour movie sets all day and then do a show at night at the same day and not get paid extra.
But that was a game changer, I felt, for ESPN and SportsCenter because that made us real and genuine and fun.
We were allowed.
It was like the handcuffs were off.
At least it was for me.
Because the first few years when I was there, I didn't want to upset the apple cart.
I was a woman in a man's world.
I didn't want to do, I mean, even what I wore was so conservative.
You know, I mean, I was like, although, you know, early 90s, it wasn't like, look at me kind of thing.
Well, you know me, Dan.
They didn't let the real me out.
