There was a magnificent woman in first class, a woman by the name of Molly Brown.
you know, a magnificent suffragette, very rich.
And she is extremely concerned, particularly about the women from steerage, almost all of whom are now widows.
They have nothing because they're coming to a new world.
All of their worldly possessions are
are now at the bottom of the Atlantic.
They've got children.
Most of these women aren't educated.
They have no skills.
And Molly recognises this.
And so she works really hard on the Carpathia to get them clothes and to make sure that once they arrive in New York, they have some money in order to survive.
And she starts up the Titanic Survivors Association.
which she runs for many, many years.
But those survivalists were actually quite flawed.
Evelyn's name never appeared on a survivalist.
So William, who is still on his way to Sydney and has, of course, heard about the sinking of the Titanic...
