And that would sort of be it.
And then so people would be like, oh yeah, we need to call palliative care.
And then they'd, you know, sort of defer to palliative care.
Whereas at another institution that um that I was
Um, exposed to they would actually have palliative care, like sort of almost like mentoring trainees into like how to have these conversations and help with debriefing and that sort of thing.
And and that I think really actually helped change the culture to make it be like, okay, this is actually my responsibility um for my patient, and palliative care is gonna help support me do that versus like I'm like outsourcing.
Outsource.
Yes, the latter one was a low intensity and the former was a high intensity hospital.
I mean, I'd be curious what you guys think of, you know, about that face validity.
But, you know, in qualitative research, one of the things that we do is like, you know, to try to help improve like that, I guess that face validity is like.
we triangulate, we we go to like different, you know, ways of looking at the the question and and try to see if like this is consistent across different different types of data, but also member checking is an important part of this as well.
So going back to people who are similar to the people interviewed or to the actual people interviewed, being like, how does this like look to you?
Does that sound about right?
And I feel like when I've um had the opportunity to share this data with people, people definitely people have felt like this does ring true with their experiences.
Yeah.
And I think it's a real tension.
I mean, it's a huge um, it's it's why this is this is difficult.
These are ethical challenges.
And you're right, like people do recover from these and and trainees in particular have, you know, less experience having seen people make it to the other side.
Um, I think one of the um things that I really uh also focused on in the paper was the relational aspect of things.
