From my perspective as a lawyer, I worked for the Justice Department.
I also worked as a federal public defender for 10 years prior to serving as DOJ pardon attorney.
This is a criminal conspiracy between Todd Blanche and Donald Trump and his lawyers to steal tax dollars and to defraud the American people.
There is simply no legal basis to put this money
in the hands of people who make these settlement claims.
Yeah, so this just got even worse today.
Today, another part of the settlement agreement, which was unveiled and we were misled yesterday.
We were told that there's no benefit to Donald Trump financially from this agreement, because in fact, what we now know is that the Justice Department is agreeing that they will make the IRS give up their audits of not only Donald Trump individually, but all of his family members and all of his businesses.
That is incredibly valuable to Donald Trump.
He could be
actually be on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars in tax liability and not in addition to the costs of undergoing the audits.
So that is of great financial value to Donald Trump.
And that apparently is a part of the settlement agreement that we were not told about yesterday.
But that that add on to the settlement agreement, there's more to it.
It is actually a release of all claims by the United States.
against Donald Trump, against his family members, and against his businesses, which is staggering in scope.
Effectively, that document, if it is deemed to be enforceable by a court, means that in the future, after Donald Trump has left office, after Todd Blanch is hopefully a distant memory, we will not be able to sue for recourse for the damage that Donald Trump has done to the American people.
We won't be able to sue him to try to get the money back that he has misappropriated from taxpayers.
