And I remember the following month he never take any more $25 off me.

Because I was the first one there, last one, and I would stay behind and clean up the gym.

So he took a liking towards me and invited me over for dinner or yum cha.

And we're still friends today.

He would run a big tournament once or twice a year.

And invite everybody from different styles, even boxing, chit-chit to karate, you know, kickboxing.

So like bloodsport, like that kumatai or something.

Yeah, pretty much, pretty much.

And we would fight at YMCA, and it was like a tournament fight, you know.

You fight, you know, three, four times to get to the final, and then you get the big prize, you know.

Yeah.

But he was the only active promoter at the time.

I'm talking about late 70s and early 80s.

Yeah.

So he would run shows there and everybody looked forward to it, you know, and people come from down the line, Wellington, just to enter this tournament.

Yeah.

And me and Wayne, you know, and my cousin Alex too, we were all fighting in this tournament.
