And so long as you can come up with initiatives that stop other policies that get introduced, which are actually trying to serve different motives.
Take what the EU is doing in the past week.
They're actually trying to block
the greater availability of EV cars for European consumers, purely because they're trying to protect legacy European companies.
And it's a classic European policy choice, but it gets confused in this issue of
unfair Chinese competition and so on.
You listen to a Greg Jackson that's deep in the weeds.
The idea that a European company is ever going to be able to get the technology anytime soon to compete with endless Chinese companies in solar power or battery operated cars is just very naive unless somebody goes out and ends up buying one.
I had absolutely no idea.
No, I had no idea that Greg was a sponsor.
I think we could do a lot better.
And this is, again, one of my frustrations of the
of the decade since Brexit.
I was what I always say, a sort of objective remainer.
I thought it was obvious that leaving had caused a big economic hit the way it has, almost completely as it's had.
But I did think it might provide such a shock to our economy
you know, Westminster square mile and everything that goes with it, that we would treat some key issues way more seriously than we did.
And we haven't, uh, hopefully Andy Burnham's going to do it on the domestic issues, especially with relates to devolution and, uh, et cetera, et cetera.
But we haven't done it on the international scene either because of the things, you know, we basically have a pretty good relationship at its core with many of these places and,
But we have to really, really want to reach out to them and treat them with respect and seriousness.
