I'll tell you, these guys...

they're not happy with losing two Stanley Cup finals.

I mean, people would expect them to be happy, to be in that position, to win it, to have a chance to win it, to be there.

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but they expect that.

This is a core that knows they're good.

This is a core that knows they can get there, knows how to manage games and how to play at times.

But quite frankly, they just haven't been able to finish it off.

And it's bothered them.

It bothered them a lot this year.

weird feeling around the team this year I think right from the start we saw it all year long into the playoffs obviously you can't control injuries you can't control what happened with the team but it might have been a little bit of a blessing in disguise I know we've talked about people don't want to hear it but this team's going to be rested motivated hungry to come back and do the right things

But to speak the right things right now in the summertime, I think the end of the year press conferences, especially with the top players, they all to a man said, listen, we need to get better.

I think they're taking it upon themselves.

I think they understand you need to look in the mirror and you need to make sure you're doing the right things on a nightly basis.

And that's something that I think everybody would be watching for.

I mean, I will be.

That'll be something that I'm certainly seeing early in the season.

not just from the entire team, but especially from the core and the top players, if they can make those tweaks and those changes to their game,

to be a harder team to play against.

Because if they can, and we've seen them do it in stretches, we've seen them do it on two runs to the Stanley Cup final, a run to the conference final not that long before that, this is a team that's kind of been knocking at the door similar to what the Hurricanes have been doing in recent years and eventually won it.
