So I met with the person who had taken the testimony and then I met with someone who also knew her personally, just all in the same week, while I was finishing up reading the McAleese report again, already feeling quite bewildered by how official and bureaucratic it was.
And they said, don't you realise, Bridget never left.
She died there.
And God, I get emotional now thinking about it.
Anyway, I had realised, I had read that transcript inside out, upside down, a hundred times.
And I knew there was a sentence in it where she said, where she's describing why she went back and she said, well, I got to like it here.
I got to like it here.
This is a woman in her 80s.
I had seen that.
