Now, the government argument is that you can't put in a formal tenancy agreement because, say, I'm renting a back garden unit in your house.

If I were, if you wanted to sell your house and I'm a tenant, well then you're stuck there for six years and that's the government argument.
However, is there some kind of in-between year agreement that you could reach where people have some kind of protection because right now they have none.

You would worry about students particularly, I think, being taken advantage of because they are so desperate to get college accommodation, specifically in Dublin.
Again, the other question is how many of these will actually be put in gardens, say like in Dublin?
