undeniably hurtful and offensive word out of the broadcast like it's completely ridiculous all I will say is that you know I think that the whole point of I swear and all of John Davidson's work is to try and raise people's awareness of Tourette's and the reality of living with Tourette's and potentially there will be an increased level of awareness as a result of this incident that's the only silver lining yeah
Why have, like, you know, having worked in various different broadcast environments over my 20 plus years in broadcasting, like usually if you have a delay, the delay is five minutes max.
Yeah.
Like you're not talking, maybe 10 minutes.
There's a two hour difference.
Like why have that length of time if you're not going to use it and be careful?
Like it makes no sense.
in the the venue and the people who are outside editing like where was that communication saying by the way this has been happening through the evening can you make sure that it's not being picked up exactly and aside from that in the BAFTA statement they said that they say we took measures to make make excuse me we took measures to make those in attendance aware of the ticks announcing to the audience before the ceremony began and throughout that john was in the room and that they may hear strong language involuntary noises or movements during the ceremony
So if they'd made that effort for the people in the room, surely there was some sort of explicit conversation about this in terms of the broadcast.
It's absolutely pathetic in my opinion.
And I think that BAFTA thanked Davidson for his dignity and consideration of others after he chose to leave the auditorium and watch the rest of the ceremony from a screen.
Like, that is so sad that he had to do that, you know?
And it just, they have just put so many people in such difficult situations.
They really have.
I know.
Everything I've seen of her is so gorgeous.
Yeah, go on, Jesse Buckley.
Go on, Jesse Buckley is right.
Onwards to the Oscars.
Absolutely.
