But why I was surprised by this is I really don't like secondhand books because I hate turning a page and you come across the remnants of somebody's supper, you know, tomato ketchup or something like that on the page.
And I just wondered, I mean, I know people who will, well, I have one friend who will only buy secondhand books because she says it's more exciting.
But do you both like secondhand books?
Am I alone in this fussiness?

I found in this copy of Memento Mori that Bill, whoever he was, has actually, in pencil, thank goodness, but edited, he's deleted a however from the text.
