Hey, make sure that doesn't belong to the victim.

Hearing that the palm print didn't belong to the victim and that it was in the victim's blood was almost like an early Christmas gift because I knew that that's the key piece of evidence in this case.

Up until this point in my career, I'd never had an unsolved case.

And that was a point of pride for me, I guess, right?

and I kind of walked around like I was 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

And I wasn't concerned at all at this crime scene.

I'm like, this thing figured out.

You know, we'll be done by the end of the week.

We'll have this thing figured out.

The sink.

There's a bloody palm print.

That's solid gold right there for me.

I'm like, I thought I had it, right?

We brought that bloody palm print back, and we ran it through our databases, and I didn't get a hit.

So now we're months into the investigation and nobody that I had talked with so far, none of those folks' palm print matched the palm print that was taken from the scene.

We didn't have any other crimes that mirrored that crime.

Nothing else to make us believe that we had somebody who was going around chasing down sex workers to murder them.

So it's a little frustrating.

You get a little depressed about it because you've got this key piece of evidence here.

That's a, what better evidence than a print?
