Federal judges in separate cases have blocked the law for 25 school districts across Texas.
But in total, the state is home to just over 1,200 districts, and the rulings have mainly impacted the state's largest cities.
Similar laws in Louisiana and Arkansas have also been struck down by federal courts.

Forecasters are expecting gusty winds, isolated tornadoes, floods and storms capable of dropping pea to ping-pong-sized hail. This comes after authorities near Houston recovered the body of a 10-year-old girl killed in floodwaters Monday. And according to forecasters, the weather isn't expected to let up.
