While I wanted to be able to take all of that pain away from others, I really had to take it away from myself first.
And this comes through, you know, 12-step programs, which are rehab.
Whereas, you know, confronting myself, being able to sit with myself and say, these are all of my issues.

These are all the lies I've told.
This is every, like, you know, like taking ownership of every single thing that I'd done wrong and all of the pain and harm that I'd caused and then being able to
Being able to forgive myself for that and then being able to approach other people with love and being able to...
You know, forgiveness is difficult.
Forgiveness is extremely difficult.
I would say just ownership of that, responsibility of that with others.
And a lot of the healing didn't come through the apology.
A lot of the healing came through me actually bettering myself, me healing myself when people were able to see me actually embodying what I'd said.
You know, when actions mirrored words, I think that that really allowed a lot of that healing and forgiveness to take place from others.
You know, especially my family, you know, my mama, my mother and my sister were two people who were really harmed during my addiction.
And they, and you know, the amount of times I apologized to them was, you know, countless.
But once my actions mirrored what I said, that's when the apology and the forgiveness became real for them.
Yeah.
And that's, once again, that's the shame.
