So you get paid monthly in the NRL.
So I was like, okay, well, you know, it's only a week until I get a massive lump sum.
So I can borrow, you know, 500,000 bucks off someone.
And in a week's time, I'll have more than enough money to pay them back.
So I would start asking friends or my siblings or my parents and I would come up with a lie.
You know, I always have like this really wonderful, well-thought-out lie as to why I was on $400,000 a year and yet I needed to borrow money.
And I would do a rotation between the people, you know, because I wouldn't be able to go back to the same person a week later.
So I would sort of rotate who I was asking for money.
And it'd go from like my brother to my sister to my mom and to my partner and then to like my best mate and then to another mate and then to another one of the boys I played footy with.
So to all of them.
Like I'm only borrowing little amounts of money or, you know, 500 bucks every six weeks sort of thing.
So to them, it kind of doesn't in the beginning, you know, they're just like, oh yeah.
Like, and, and I would, and I would pay them back too.
Cause I get this massive lump sum and then I'd pay them all back.
So to them, they're like, oh, you know, he borrowed 500 bucks once every six weeks.
And then I'm always paid back a couple weeks later sort of thing.
It sounds like no one knew how bad it was except you.
Yeah.
When did someone else know that it was bad?
Yeah, well, when it started getting bad was when I started owing so much that even when I was getting these massive lump sums each month, they weren't enough to cover my debt.
