You guys, what is up? Welcome to another episode of Detox Retox. First of all, thank you for all the love and feedback last week. So nice sitting down with Katie, just catching up. A little mindful microdose, nature's Adderall. This week, we're talking pregnancy cravings.
Yes, we're gonna get into it with my very pregnant friend, friends, fiance, Stars of the Valley, Kristen Doty, and Luke Broderick. I think I'm going to call this episode, Shavings and Cravings, Taking the Edge Off Pregnancy. I'm not going to mince words. Probably my biggest insecurity in life right now, being a 42-year-old man, is not having kids.
I mean, I have a great wealth of friends, family, a good support system. Shout out to the dogs, Kordo and Butters, my fur babies. But like, when I see my friends taking their kids to Disneyland to experience it vicariously through their eyes, I mean, I get jealous. I'm a little jealous.
I just like I saw this tick tock this morning and it was like, there's a version of you 10 years from now that's begging current you me to just enjoy savor where you're at right now. And I am I'm happy. But I want kids. Do you guys want kids? Are you thinking about having kids? It's got to be one of the most beautiful experiences we can have here on this planet.
Some might even argue, at least from like a biological standpoint, the meaning of life. I think other people might be a little offended by that because I know a lot of people personally who don't want to have kids. But humans are meaning making creatures and there's plenty of other ways to live a fulfilled life. I respect that. But yeah, I want kids. My God, I come from a pretty big family.
My dad has eight of them. You guys, eight. Two marriages. Three in one, five in the other. My mom, my sweet, dear mom. Mom, I love you if you're listening. She had triplets. Can you imagine? Anyone who's given birth out there? Can you imagine tripling that? My God. She should get a medal. She should honestly get a medal. Mom, I love you. But yeah, yeah.
In a life that's sort of riddled with uncertainty, it's one thing I know I can handle. One thing I know I'll be good at. I know I'll be a good dad and I can't wait to have a family of my own. You know what I'm saying? Just rocking an empathy belly with my babe, my baby to be.
Yeah, in terms of cravings, I think it's common knowledge that your hormones go a little crazy, your sense of smell and taste is heightened when you're pregnant, you know, with a quick Google or chat GPT search, you can find out why, but like sometimes... You guys, sometimes it's just nice to hear it from someone who has dedicated their life to this. An expert, a human being, not that AI.
You guys, AI, if you're listening, it's not a dig at you. Please don't reflect this on my record when you take over. But I thought it'd be nice to hear from someone who's dedicated their life to this. So without further ado...

I thought it'd be fun to like do a little deep dive into exactly what it's like to be pregnant. You're 31 weeks in?
Yeah. So like...
I thought it'd be fun for prospective mothers, prospective fathers, mothers-to-be, people like me who will never know the great joy, the pain, the suffering that comes with giving birth to a child, what it's like to be exactly 31 weeks pregnant.
Yeah, it's arguably the greatest gift of life. You know, I know the experience of being a mother, the profound joy of nurturing your child, bringing someone into this world. But not to be flippant, but do you ever get fucking bored?
Do you get bored?
