Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the U.S. deported hundreds of people who he says are members of the MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gangs on Sunday. Rubio posted on X that El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele will take these migrants to, quote, very good jails at a fair price.
The president of El Salvador then posted a video of the deportees in handcuffs and said the deportees would be held behind bars for one year. Bukele also responded to reports of a federal judge blocking the deportations with a post saying, quote, oopsies, too late.

Musk says the Treasury Department agreed to let Doge access their taxpayer data to look out for waste and fraud. The federal judge temporarily blocked the sharing agreement, saying it risks, quote, irreparable harm. In a social media post shared by Musk, Vice President J.D.
Vance said, quote, judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power, end quote. The Constitution establishes three separate but co-equal branches of government. the legislative, executive, and judicial. This judicial branch is responsible for deciding whether actions taken by people or the government are legal. A hearing on Doge's access to Treasury data is set for this Friday.

Crowds chanted against tech billionaire turned special government employee Elon Musk, who has called USAID a, quote, ball of worms. Musk has worked to dismantle the International Aid Agency with the support of President Donald Trump. Many at the rally were current USAID or nonprofit workers, but didn't want to give their names publicly, fearing that they'd be targeted by the Trump administration.

Danielle Hegseth, the former wife of Hegseth's brother, says the defense secretary nominee, quote, has an alcohol problem and was abusive to his ex-wife. In her affidavit, reviewed by NPR News, she says at times Hegseth's second wife hid in a closet from him out of fear. Daniel Hegseth submitted the affidavit in response to a request from Democratic Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island.
The ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee called the affidavit, quote, disturbing and potentially disqualifying. On Monday, the committee endorsed Pete Hegseth's nomination along party lines, paving the way for a vote in the full Senate. A lawyer for Hegseth dismissed these allegations to NBC News.
