Did I sell it to stop people from leaving?
people love New Zealand as well when they come here and they travel here like we're so highly regarded as a people and we should really lean into that like being great people one thing that I did in my life that really changed it was gratitude and you know I was writing down three times a day I think I've got like five years back to back in my notes app on my phone right
And I would encourage people to do that for a period, maybe not five years, but it'll really embed it into you.
I think if you want to love New Zealand, you've got to find why you should love it.
Yeah, because there's going to be so much coming at you why New Zealand doesn't work or won't work for you.
And so you've got to, I think, start with some gratitude and figure out how to make New Zealand amazing for you.
well i sort of have a bit of a thesis that you know if you can get yourself sorted it's a bit like put your life jacket on first and then get out of that survival type mode is what i call it where you kind of like when you're in survival mode you are sort of fending for yourself and it is hard to look okay how do i give and and do things like that um but there are always little ways to do it it might be you know i picked up a um a travel pillow in the airport for a lady today um because she dropped it and she didn't notice but i ran up to her to give it to her and then she screamed at me
And I gave her a massive fright.
And it's like, okay, you know, you can have good intentions.
But, you know, even just looking for ways to help other people.
And then once you get out of, you know, well, get out of survival mode, if I call it that, and build up more resources.
Okay, how can you use those resources to support things that you care about?
I recently invested into a tech startup.
Good going.
yeah because that's what they need at the moment they need connection and they need capital and many years ago people gave me those things i was given capital and i was given connections and still am and i think okay well like someone did this for me i can do it for someone else and i think it could be ways you know just like volunteering uh providing for people who may not have what you have linking people up just looking for problems that you can solve and i think it doesn't always have to be about money
Yeah I mean I'm probably seeing the same things where I was pretty shocked that S&P 500 for instance is back to all time highs and people don't seem to be too phased about the volatility whether maybe
I'm a little bit worried that we're getting a little bit complacent about just how, you know, maybe how bubbly it could be.
But it reminds me back end of 2025, a lot of commentary around are we in an AI bubble?
But it rolls on.
But then back to the New Zealand business side, as soon as that war kicked off overseas, we've definitely noticed a lot of confidence fall out of the business community.
