So I think because we've got such an ageing demographic of business owners, that doesn't really lend itself to introducing a lot of technology.
Our database and client base is a bit younger and so they are playing with AI a bit more and introducing technology and some of them are
the most profitable they've ever been.
Pockets of, I think, the SME community are doing it.
But like my dad said to me, he was like, oh, I'm glad I don't have to figure all this stuff out.
And I think that's a little bit of the attitude of some of the business owners who are ready to retire.
A very quick story, I've got a really cool case study that I'm looking forward to doing over the next few months and this guy went down the residential rental property route and then got to the point where he's like okay I'm doing this, it's a little bit boring, I'm not that in control of my income.
Consumes too much of my content, he goes and buys a business, starts slowly selling down the residential rental properties.
He buys a business from a baby boomer, he goes in and goes oh okay they could be using this technology, they could be using this booking software, oh if we use this technology for licence recognition that means we could open longer and he's increased the profitability in that business, he becomes a higher taxpayer, he unlocks opportunity in that business that wasn't there.
gets that working well and goes, I might buy the business next door as well.
And he buys that, he markets that, the second business to the customers that come to the first one.
He's got that profitable and he's just brought his third business and all of his goals are completely different, but he's basically taking things that could be improved, making them more profitable, making them more productive, then providing opportunities for other people and paying more tax and going, wow, the sky's the limit.
So it can be done.
I think there's a couple of pieces there.
Like one, I noticed that people are, a guy said to me the other day about getting started investing and he was asking me, you know, what stock should I invest in?
I'm like, mate, that's not what I do.
Every time I get those messages now, I think, is this the FMA testing me?
but anyway i said my fma listeners hey guys yeah well disposed um i i'm like that's not my job i'm like you're gonna figure it out they're like oh yeah i might go away and do some more research i'm like nah mate it's not i'm like less research more action taking i'm like all the resources are there there's a reason that you're not doing it another guy the other day signed up for a platform i bumped into him how'd you go oh yeah i've signed up
I just haven't transferred any money yet.
And I sort of had you ringing in the back of my head a little bit of, you know, people need to almost deposit within those first few days and get started, otherwise they then pull back a little bit.
