I don't think there's anything.

And this comes up in assessing student work as well.

And our students, if they have used AI in any way, they have to kind of declare it.

And it's okay if they've just used it for kind of generating ideas.

But consistently, and I'll be like, yes, you've declared that you've used AI to help you with some approaches to writing an ekphrastic poem in response to the raft of the Medusa.

And good for you, that's fine.

But I just think that you could have spent like half an hour just noting down a few possible approaches to it yourself.

And most of those would have been more interesting.

AI was like, well, how does Medusa feel?

What if you were the raft?

How does the raft feel?

What's it like being a raft?

Have you ever thought of that?

I am very smart.

And a lot of that is so weird.

And it's like anybody could have just come up with all of that stuff just by dedicating a few minutes to it.

So sometimes I just think it's like it's seen as a sort of shortcut.

And I try to be kind of sensitive to that as well.

I think the last thing I think like if anybody is trying to make something, especially when they're starting out, the last thing you want to do is make them feel any kind of shame or self-consciousness about what they're doing, even though my entire career is based on

self-consciousness to as deep a level as possible.
