The Dobermans of all all all our breeds, Dobermans have narcolepsy.

And they began studying why.

And they discovered erects actually in the Doberman, and that was the start of all this.

And they realized that a Doberman can't make enough erection and then goes into a sleep state.

And then they look at humans next.

And so the work in the dogs uh inspired them to look in humans, and lo and behold, the same pathway is conserved in humans.

And humans will get narcolepsy just like Dobamans.

And of course, uh the first trial then was done in the Doberman.

They treated Dobamans with the orexins and and again it stopped the narcolepsy.

So it's very useful, you know, that these these certain animals can benefit humans then from this kind of research.

Yeah, that was the strange thing.

The first thing they noticed in animals was erection increases your appetite.

Now they reckon that's because they're more alert is the explanation by why finally for this.

The rats are awake for long time.

You can't eat when you're asleep asleep, exactly.

And the word they called it erection, 'cause that means to eat, you know.

And then then they find, oh, hang on a minute, it's not about eating at all.

It's about keeping the rats alert.

Uh they gave it to mice.
