So the quant is the poll.
So that's the 2,000 people, nationally representative survey, goes into the field, comes back, X percent want to trade welfare for defence.
The focus group, the qual is the focus group.
This is where then what you do is you get eight real people that you're sat around.
And if polling can tell us what people think, focus groups usually tell us
people think it in their own words.
And I, you know, look, I'm biased.
Other people in the industry would disagree.
As I say, I get a lot more out of the qual because it's real people.
And there are times when you're doing the qual and you realise, actually, people misinterpreted that question in a poll.
They just didn't understand.
They didn't understand it.
And actually, so we will sometimes, before fielding a survey, do a focus group first to check people understand what we mean by it.
Give me an example of something people get wrong.
So, like, I mean...
A lot of our work, we, as well as looking at sort of political attitudes, we look at some social psychology questions, you know, to try and understand more kind of upstream what people might think.
And when we were designing our segmentation, we had a lot of questions about, you know, things about like, would you rather have a more equal pie or a bigger pie, you know, or a bigger pie, even if it's more equal?
