And sort of in the in this wonderful video era, we were able to all get together on a video conference and we were able to support that person to sh to share their diagnosis with these family members who frankly were initially like, Oh my gosh, why are you calling us into this meeting?
This is burdensome for us right now.
But when they actually
Heard the news.
And were able to talk about it, they were so grateful.
Um and things did indeed change for that patient really quickly after that.
I I was gonna say I think that makes so much
sense and so true to real life because when you think about a person in the hospital as an individual in an unfamiliar place completely on their own.
Is
Asking them to make a decision in that context of a stress incredibly stressful context, is that actually real autonomy, or is it, as you say, enhancing their autonomy by trying to bring in more people from their life, which is probably naturally how decisions are made?
When someone's not inside the hospital, especially
I I just I really like that idea.
It's actually making it much more true to human behavior.
Human behavior.
Yeah, I mean I think it reinforces that if somebody says, no thanks, when I ask about family members, I'm gonna use that as an opportunity to say, can you tell me more about that?
Something as simple as that.
